The eCrafts Collective gave an e-felting workshop in July 2012 during the Sustainable Maker Culture events at the World Design Capital Pavilion in Helsinki. The maker events were organized by Cindy Kohtala within the programme of Green Drinks Helsinki. During the half a day workshop, the participants learned how to make a press on/off switch with felted wool, and used it to control a light (LED) stitched into their felted objects. They also made their own soft battery holders and understood the workings of a simple LED circuit. Some conductive yarn, coloured wool, LEDs, button cell batteries, coffee and intensive needle felting resulted in fun little soft objects that could be squeezed to light them up. Thanks to all the participants who, even in the short time, worked enthusiastically to finish their projects!
